Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Training

Centene is providing a no-cost trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) training for in-network providers.
TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma that includes participation by their parents or caregivers. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences.
Please carefully review the “Who May Attend” and “Pre-Requisites Requirements” sections before registering. If you meet criteria and can commit to the pre-training requirements, please register as soon as possible to secure a spot.
Who May Attend
Only clinicians who meet all the following criteria are eligible to attend:
- Contracted in-network providers with or in the credentialing process.
- Master's degree or above in a mental health discipline.
- Professional licensure in home state (or under supervision for licensure).
- Actively treating children/adolescents in your state's foster care/child welfare system. (You do not have to have a foster child on your current caseload, but you need to regularly have the potential of treating a child in
foster care.) - Can commit to and participate in the follow-up TF-CBT Consultation Call Program consisting of twice-monthly, one-hour group conference calls for six months.

Pre-Training Requirements
Pre-training requirements are due no later than end of business day Friday, May 29, 2026.
You need to register first to secure your spot, then work on the pre-training requirements.
- MUSC’s TF-CBT Web 2.0 Training
- Visit the Medical University of South Carolina’s (MUSC) TF-CBT Web 2.0 Training webpage to complete the online training. You will create an account, pay the $35 fee and take the online training. This training takes anywhere between 9 to 11 hours to complete, so please make sure to give yourself time to complete it. You will be required to upload your certificate of completion within the registration site as we don’t have access to the MUSC site.
- Please note that uploading an older certificate is fine. You do not need to take the training again.

- Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS)
- You must also complete the CATS assignment by the due date above. It takes 20 to 25 minutes to complete and is available when you register within the course.
Cost*
The two-day TF-CBT training and follow-up consultation calls are provided at no cost as part of our continuing effort to help clinicians treating children in foster care enhance their skills and utilize the best evidence-based tools available.
*Your only cost will be $35 for taking the MUSC’s TF-CBT Web 2.0 Training. If you’ve already taken this training, you do not need to take it again.
Continuing Education (CE)
The TF-CBT training is worth 14 CE hours with the following boards:
- NBCC: Centene Corporation has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6673. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Centene Corporation is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
- Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Pre-approved for Social Work Continuing Education. Appropriate for Behavioral Health Licenses: 13-006 (pre-approval for SW only).
Note: Since CE boards may have changes in requirements, it is the responsibility of the attendee to verify with their boards if they accept the continuing education being offered.
