Provider Manual Update for Behavioral Health Intervention Services and Applied Behavioral Analysis

Iowa Total Care sent a Provider Alert on July 22, 2022 regarding our updated Provider Manual. We also included a link which provided a high-level overview of our Provider Manual updates.

We have a correction to share. On the Benefits Chart under Behavioral Health Services (pages 36‒49) we indicate that for Hawki members, Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS), including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), is covered. However, this information is inaccurate. For Hawki members, Iowa Medicaid does NOT have BHIS or ABA as a covered benefit, so therefore it is not a covered benefit for Iowa Total Care.
